I loved the speakers! Each had their own unique story and were all very well appropriate to issues going on in Bay Port today. I also liked how the speakers made some parts laughable and fun but then they would be so passionate when telling their stories. On top of that the questions at towards the end (especially the question on who has died from a drug addiction that you knew) really opened our eyes to see that this can truly happen to anyone. Oh and finally, I loved the proposal at the end! Way to end with a bang (;

Thank you so much for coming into our school and sharing your stories. The emotion behind your words struck not only me, but most of the students in the room. The amount of courage it must have taken to stand in front of so many of us is amazing. Hearing your stories made me realize that my choices not only affect me, but the others around me. Thank you again for taking the time to share with us.

You guys helped me realize I am not alone in this battle. I struggle with pretty bad anxiety. I worry about everything, everyone, every possible situation, basically anything besides myself. The week you visited my school, to be honest, I was so bad that I was barely eating anything and my parents were threatening to take me to a mental hospital. But after you guys talked I realized I can’t necessarily be there for everyone and help everyone but by helping myself I help others too because people worry about me too and although I didn’t realize I was hurting myself I was. You guys helped me to realize that thinking about me sometimes isn’t selfish, and it not only helps me but it helps others as well. I want to thank you! You turned me in the right direction and I have been moving forward from here. Thank you!

Rise together shows you the realness of addiction. They didn’t sugar coat anything and that’s what was so intriguing about this presentation. It got your attention. It was so close to home and within the halls that we walk every day and for that in itself if made you wanna listen. Rise together shows the pain that comes with addiction and life sometimes. But it also shows you the hope and love that recovery can lead to. It shows you that once you got high of a substance but recovery leads you to a high on life and nothing beats that. Rise together is a real ass group of people who are down to earth and loving yet don’t play any games. It gets worse before it gets a hell lot better and that’s what Rise together is there for, support, love, and hope.

I thought that all of the stories that were told were so inspirational. I like how you weren’t just people that would just say “drugs are bad, don’t do them”, you told your story and how you changed your lives to become better overall. I loved the presentation and would watch it over and over. Thank You!

I really liked the program. It was engaging to our students. I had a few students stay after school and open up to me about their struggles so for me it helped kids feel they had a voice and could turn to someone!

Rise Together showed me that there is HOPE!!!

The night of the presentation I had planned to commit suicide. After the presentation I no longer wanted or felt the need to. Listening to other people’s story’s and their recovery made a huge impact on me. Since other people can make it through, than I know I can too.

High School Student

I’ve learned that you don’t need drugs to be happy because when you like to do something like drawing or play an instrument you can be happy.

Rise Together was an amazing presentation. You really changed the way kids think of drugs. The concert was amazing!
