RESILIENCE SERIES – Helping yourself by helping others w/Amyah Brooks

RISE TOGETHER is offering this series for FREE in coordination with their #RiseTogetherStrong Fundraiser. *Learn more here*

In support of our #RiseTogetherStrong fundraiser, every Monday, join TEDx speaker Nadine Machkovech for a live conversation exploring how thought leaders and changemakers from around the world have faced adversity over this past year. This series will offer practical tips on how we can all grow this strength in our day-to-day lives.

Amyah Brooks is from Appleton, Wisconsin. She is a recent Appleton West High School graduate and now attending Marquette University in Milwaukee, majoring in Political Science and Social Welfare following a minor in Spanish.

Amyah has been a part of many clubs throughout high school, but her favorite was Discovery Corps, where she became a certified peer wellness coach. It allowed her to be a resource to her peers and help them navigate any adverse experience they may be facing. It also helped her broaden her connection with people she never really would have met. Some other groups she participated in were the key club where she served as president for 3 years, Educators Rising, and Mock Trial.

Amyah recently worked as a Youth Development Specialist at the Boys & Girls Club and a childcare volunteer at Harbor House domestic abuse and violence shelter.
