Dodge County Stop Heroin Rally – September 12th

September 12, 2015 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Stop Heroin Now is a statewide non-profit focusing on intervention and prevention for substance use and education and awareness of opiate use. Our county rallies focus on educating the community on what opiates are and the risks of taking them. We also provide resources and community support for those who have lost someone to addiction, are suffering with addiction, and are in recovery. We have a strong network of professionals and those with personal experience that are grounded in living a sober life.

Our rally for Dodge County will be on Sept 12 at Tower Lanes from 10a until 3p. Special appearances by Erik Kirkstein from Citizen Action of Wisconsin, LEAP Recovery, The Horicon Police Department, Stop HeroinNow, Affiliated Clinical Services, Caroline Miller of Wisconsin Voices For Recovery, Rise Together, Wisconsin United We CAN, Nova Treatment Center, Cindy Hartt of Life Line, and many more added weekly. We will have a resource center, where local treatment centers, lawyers offices, hospitals, inpatient treatment centers, support groups such as NA and AA, high schools and other organizations such as Restorative Justice will be on hand to help the community find the help they deserve. Our rallies are family friendly including face painting, food, 50/50, memorial balloon launch, sign making, and more. The overall message is of hope and community for those that are suffering, celebrating those who have found sober living and awareness to everyone so no one else has to feel the pain of addiction. Our key note speaker will be State Rep Latonya Johnson.

Additionally, we have other wonderful speakers planned, including Anthony Alvarado and Douglas Darby from Rise Together, Ourselves (Jessica Jessica Goddard-Geschke, VP Stop Heroin Now and Abby Baumgart Hendrix, President Stop Heroin Now, Brigette Cramer Henschel of Amalia’s Hope, community activist Jason Birdman Fritz and Jim Giese from Affiliated Clinical Services. We will have an open mic at the end of the rally for those who have found recovery to share their HOPE with others and those who may need to ask for help the ability and platform to do so.
